blackwood is a certain kind of player you have to take as he is. he wont change..cant change. his future depends on the full development of his style.
encourage him to go on in his direction maximising his chances of scoring with that kind of approach by making his skill as go get them as dexterous as possible

You said Mail , Black wood when he "puts his mind to it"
Are you saying he did NOT and gave away his wicket on 95?
and being disingenuous by saying a lotta bats out on 90s ?????????
Typical ....****sigh***

Wonder why Cheesy has not yet got his chance?
Is he around 32? He looks a bit old but that should not matter and may work in his advantage.
However Guyanans create the opportunity but when they get to the top stage, the seem to lack the mental aptitude and ability to adapt.
Chase, Blackwood made immediate impacts and have shown the ability to adapt.
How can players be a one trick pony when they bat and bowl?

Yeah ....they BOTH win a series, NO a single TEST. :
Bishoo set up the W ; and they both "adapted"

Stupid question as no player is really doing that but one has to recognise individual performances until such time individual performances come together.
Even the brilliant 8 for by Bishoo did not lead to a win and if you go further back how many tests did Shiv win, especially in the sat few years of his pedestrian career? None but he was ICC's top ranked batsman.
We can say the same for Samuels and God knows he should have been dropped ages ago.

Ok so I will break it down.
I agree cricket is a team sport but individual performances contribute to team performances.
You maligned the contribution of individuals apropos winning games and I elucidated that even other brilliant individual performances have not lead to victories, like Bishoo's 8 for..... irrespective of the result, that was an outstanding effort.
The point was no one has made that difference over the years but maligning individual performances seems senseless.
A further example was given about Shiv's number 1 ranking when the team failed miserably.
