The loss is more about TEST cricket than finances.
These T20 mercanaries SABOTAGE the TEST players !
Roach. Tayrol , Benn, Samuels , Ramdin (Captain ) and Shiv !

Samuels is a mercenary. He is not a member of WIPA. He contracts his services directly to the WICB, IPL, Big Bash etc.
It's obvious that the other players have this option also but prefer to be members of the union. So it's clear (to me at least) that the actions of Bravo and Co. represents the consensus.

* That's correct! Bravo and Pollard were not going to be part of the test squad. And so they had no qualms about brining the tour to an end. They knew they'd be playing T20s in SA.
* Listen! I see nothing wrong with WI cricketers making a living playing T20s around the world.
* But the T20 players were the ring leaders in India and I am convinced their motives in quashing the tour were not genuine.
* That tour to India should have continued and issues between the WICB and WIPA could have been worked out later.

The consensus is 4 outta 15 man squad ?
In the 15 man squad only 4 have T20 IPL contracts and now Saffies T20.

There is a saying amongst litigation lawyers that "Sometimes it's best to shoot first, and ask questions later". It's amazing how cases settle with amazing speed once a lawsuit has been filed.
What the players should have done as soon as they realized that the MOU did not reflect their wishes (which happened before the Indian tour) was to get independent legal advice and commence and action/arbitration against WIPA, Hinds, and the WICB right away. Instead, they took the slow train to Timbuktu and tried to resolve the dispute by negotiation with WICB. Well absent a lawsuit, the WICB wasn't going to be inclined to negotiations.

If the rest of the non-T20 mercenaries were not in agreement with Bravo why don't they do like Samuels and opt out of WIPA and deal directly with the WICB?

THE GOOD NEWS IS THE WI WILL BE TOURING SOUTH AFRICA
* While the ring leaders are busy playing T20s in SA in November a way will be found for the WI to tour SA.

How could WICB know the Union and its members were in Dispute ?
Hinds did not tell that his Union membere were NOT in agreement with signing the MOU / Collective Bargaining
