mappappee,
I heard Richard commenting on the 50 overs format.
You may not have seen me writing my thoughts on how Richard Pybus would tackle his role.
He is not going to have a'scorched earth' approach. He is charged with Cricket development from the grassroots up and this requires funding. I expect him to have a 5 year plan at least so he needs to ensure the appropriate budgets are available and his approach is acceptable.
He will review the tours, as is normal, but will take a critical view of performance and the issue of Sammy, injuries and walk outs will be covered.
Managerially, I believe Gibson will report to him so in that case I do not expect Gibson to be sacked as Richard Pybus can only take it from where he sees it and not the historic burden.
I am unsure, but if Sammy does not resign holding on for dear life, it becomes tricky unless Gibson supports his removal but that is an issue for the selectors, I believe, and I am not sure who the selectors report to. If it is Richard then I think he should remove them purely based on a time limit.
My view is that there should be a selectors from each of the domestic teams, 6 selectors, plus a Chairman. I would suggest the role of the 6 selectors is for 3 years with the Chairman having to seek reelection each year for a maximum of 4 years. However this can be extended as appropriate for a further year but for no more than 7 consecutive years.
Each of the 6 selectors has a vote and where it is tied the Chairman has a casting vote.
I think Sammy, by promulgating his return, genuinely feels under threat for the first time. He, like all of the other hangers on in a laborious WICB structure, will have to have his fingers chopped off before he lets go.
Just imagine him being injured and instead of returning home from NZ, he stays there or rather he is allowed to remain there. have you ever heard of this before?
Sarwan's situation will also be looked at very closely but Sarwan needs to score runs.
In my view all of the selectors, Gibson and Sammy should do the correct thing and resign but the gravy train rolls on.
Do you know why Jumadeen resigned/ was sacked Chin/ Mappappee/ others?

Mappippee,
I feel your impatience like many of of us but seriously if you go into a job would you start shooting from the hips?
I am sure the issue of selection will be a key part of the conversation.
Windies have been losing for over 10 years now. Richard Pybus has been in post for a very short time so do not expect everything to be corrected and changed overnight.
Reshaping takes some time to formulate, get people on board, implement and embed.
Mappippee, the WICB is yet to adopt some meaningful governance, per the Wilkins recommendations, and taht has to be done first.
Richard Pybus has to do his own due diligence and make decisions from there.
Patience Timothy, patience.

Mappappee,
I think it is only reasonable to give anyone new to a role time to put their own stamp on things.
Cricket is not a short term fix and if all the selectors, coach and incompetent Captain are sacked today it will appease you and many others but it does not guarantee things will change overnight.
If fact it will not.
What is clear is Sammy MUST go.
Take it easy and let us see what comes out of the Tours account.

Mappippee,
If others were as Xenophobic as you, the doors in Canada would have been closed to you.
Richard Pybus has gone through the process prescribed by the WICB and they have chosen him.
You need to get away from the foreigner/ White bias. Prejudice operates in all directions Mappippee.
Yes I am sure Richard Pybus did his research and he was seen as the best.
How long has he been in post?
How long since they came back from tour?
Due to not think he should follow due process of reading the Coach's and Captain's report, speak with them and take it from there?
Not bureaucracy but due process and that is what is missing from the WICB as a whole....governance.
I know the character Mr Humphrey's very well, Nigel Hawthorn, of yes Prime Minister fame....sadly now deceased.

Mapoui,
Why do you constantly go on about RP being a foreigner?
It is upon that statement I have retorted.
You have a history of hating all things White and in the context of this thread you have accused the late Richard DeSouza of bringing the WICB and the game in the West Indies to its current low!
How preposterous!
You have supplied no evidence and my brief research shows Richard DeSouza to be following governance when Skerrett was sacked incorrectly. No one else, of the many knowlegeable people here (Ketchim, Chin, Krish etc) , has commented on your accusations.
[/size]If anyone would know you would think Krish would know.
I am sure you never will be able to supply that evidence.
In the context of Richard Pybus you are more concerned he is not West Indian are you not?
Rhetorically the answer is yes and that shows a prejudice, call it xenophobia, racism or whatever.
If this time next year we see no measures in place then we can talk.
[glow=red,2,300]Can you tell me exactly what you would have expected from this role, from Richard Pybus, to date?[/glow]
