2nd Test: West Indies v Australia at Kingston

I think the era of "West Indies" cricket is drawing to a close. The motivation for a combined team is just not there. However ,the era of CRICKET IN THE WEST INDIES may be viable, and should free up latent talent for the game on a per nation basis . National pride would then be at stake , and fans would not be amused if players let the nation down. At present we constantly see players raising bats in ecstasy after making a ton, even when the WI Team itself is facing ignominious defeat in the match. I don't remember seeing such behaviour in other (national)cricketing teams.

you can't be so fickle when the team loses, talk of splitting comes up, when we win is Windies forever.

must be in a loonatic individual who actually worked through or thought out west indian reality, see and understood the social needs of the region, the need for a nation and a solid citizenry, totally behind the nation, working in its interest which would be the same working in self interest.

what nationalism and national pride?  man mus be jokin' fuh troo

the one thing that can make a temper a bureaucracy relative to the quality of the work they is national pride...

that is the difference that results in the Oz, English, Saffie, Indian... and to a lesser extent Pak cricket bureaus work for the nation and produce the best results they can for the nation. their interest is not primarily to provide high paying fork for themselves at the expense of the players. 

Oz for eg., make a great deal of room for Oz players.  Indian their players receive all kinds of benefits especially when they bring home huge prizes like a world cup or so.

also in countries like England and Oz many players have access to many forms of life's work other than cricket.  same way with the people who man man the bureaus who are not great cricketers.  they have independent careers outside of cricket, and often the administrative cricket position is a sinecure.

but in the west indies the cricket bureau is all those guys got.  in the case of Julian Hunter that was the best most lucrative opportunity in his life.  Hall did not appear to take the presidency of the wicb seriously.  Teddy Griffith had had an independent career outside of cricket and his presidency must have a cap to his general career, a perk so to speak that he gave up after 1 term

The President who apparently did the best work was old ledder face Ken Gordon..another for whom the presidency was a cap to a career in serve to the establishment in the west indies and their forrin handlers.

but our current bwoy Skameron who is a career wicb official needs the wicb to live..as well as all the underlings who enjoy significant salaries working for that bureau. their purpose is to so organize west indies cricket that it constantly affords them their huge salaries and the life styles they have built on those salaries.

they don't care. their survival depends on their bleeding the cricket..draconian exploitation of the players.  there is no nationalism there..only straight, rapacious class interest.  that is why they can treat shive badly as easy as they have.  that is their interest in there.  and it does not matter if there are players involved who should have an appreciation for the contribution they players have made and how they shud be treated at the end of their careers.

all of the west indies..individual and collective states are ridiculous social entities,not real countries/societies. it is a total jackass space that is what it is..the west indies..and the rest of the world regards the west indies that way.

the west regards for example Iran as a real nation..that is why they relate to it with such caution.  Iran has along history, a whole society that lives its way, knows how to deal with life, is solid and cannot be defeated by colour revolutions for example.  the west tried that and it failed. the places that succumb to colour revolutions are states like the west indies

Back in the 1970 Manly in Jamaica was the real article first time up as prime minister.  reading Manley's program and what he did is mouth watering even today. Kissinger went in there and bribed the gangs to turn life in Jamaica into a pigs breakfast...then sanctioned trade with Jamaica that stifled the business of the country. Kissinger made Jamaica unlivable just because a prime minister started to look after his people...THE SAME PEOPLE WHO TOOK AMERICAN MONEY AND TORE THE SH!T OUT OF JAMAICA...THEIR OWN COUNTRY-JAMAICANS.

THERE ARE REAL COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD THEY HAVE TRIED AND FAILED TO DO THAT WITH. BUT THE WEST INDIES HAVE NO TRADITON OF SOCIAL SOLIDARITY IN THE FACE OF FORRIN THREAT AND INVASION. THEY TAKE THE FORRIN MONEY AND PHUCK UP THEIR OWN PATRITMONY JUST LIKE THAT.

IF THE JAMAICAN PEOPLE WERE SOLID THEY WOULD HAVE STUCK WITH THEIR PRIME MINISTER SACRIFICED WITH HIM FOR THE NATION..TO BUILD UP THE NATION AND MAKE IT SAFE FOR THEM. BUT THEY KILLED THE VERY SAME POTENTIAL THAT WOULD HAVE SOLVED IN TIME ALL THEIR PROBLEMS. 

JUST LOOK AT JAMAICA TODAY AND SEE THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE STUPIDITY, CULPABILITY OF THE JAMAICAN PEOPLE WHO WORKED KISSINGER TO SHUT DOWN MANLEY AND HIS PROGRESSIVE PROGRAM.

THE GUYANANS DID A PROGRESSIVE THING THERE ELECTING A GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY.

allyuh see!  the people want a real nation. there is that sentiment.  but it is not deep in the peoples experience.  it is society with deep potential splits based on historical experience that the the forriner can work on to divide again and cause social chaos

same way with trinidad and tobago where there has never been a politics of national unity and the real splits addressed. 

the most nasty divide in Titty is not the one between Indos and Afros but the one between mulatto and Afros.  Trinidad is really a mulatto country, a mulatto society... which is the basis of the comprehensive class and race prejudice in that country that is thick like molasses and totally intractable.  in its way Trinidadian Mulatto-ism is as bad as Jamaica's

anyhow the point is that there is little real nationalism in the west indies..little. whatever it is there, is prejudice nonsense..like black centred Jamaica extremism or superiority over the rest of black people..an insane thing really that is not rooted in any reality I know.  Jamaican mulattos for example do not give a fig for Jamaican black people but Jamaican black people have an extreme superiority complex.  the yardie mulattos are more in tune with other mulattos of the west indies..who also hate west indian black people..their own kith and kin.

then there is the Indian issue on the nationalism question:  how do Indos really feel about the west indies!  is there any commitment on the part of Indos to real west indian nationalism ::confused::

then there are whites and historically we know how they have acted..in whose interest they have always acted.  Have they changed ::confused::

and what about west indian Chinese!?  Pheeew!

so going it alone in cricket means what national pride..and in what scope..where will each individual nation play and for what ::confused::

there is no chance at all..ever..that any single west indian nation will achieve test status.  that is out of the question..an existential impossibility!  so if there emerges need for a third tier in cricket internationally I suspect that is where the west indian rumps will fit.  and occasionally Trinidad in particular, will throw up an top rated IPL entrant..or if the region keeps playing T20 the winner will go to the IPL

there might be national pride with regard to cricket..soccer etc. but there are limits.  real national pride based on the independent success of the nation, depends entirely on the solidarity of west indians, collectively achieving that success.  it is a massive job for which the region was not constructed.  we see all the obstacles to achieving such solidarity.  well those were deliberately put in our way to ensure we never achieved that very nationalism that produces the real pride..the solidarity that makes a nation and keeps it safe, whole and integral, in the face of all opposition and hard times .

but if we know and accept the reality we live positively, there is a chance to lay waste to the best laid plans of men and mice, to achieve the very objective we need that 'they' are determined we do not achieve.  however, whatever we do, separation will not, does not, cannot help

does not nuetralize my case anyway.  cricket may be dying in the region but it is a murder not a natural development. we do have a serious problem of nationalism off of which all we do is supposed to feed.  the lack of real nationalism hurts our cause badly

but separation is an idiots game that plays into the hands of our enemies ON ALL LEVELS. what they do not want is the very nationalism we  need.  small separate helpless nations suits them fine..which is why we can observe the smashing of nations around the globe.
