like above here with you and the fast bowlers and their fitness.  if they are unfit and cant carry their work complement then drop them fuh christ sakes.  isn't that normal procedure ::confused::

you do not add another mediocre pacer to an unfit couple who spearheads the attack, while maintaining 2 others of questionable quality, ending up wit 5 bowlers who cannot do the job at all.

we know cricket and ow to play and select players.  you have to play your best 11 on the day, fit and ready to.  they may be the best you have, due to other considerations which make some available and others not.

and your best, if available,  you still might not be good enough to deal with the opposition you face on the day.  so what are you options, strengths.  what are the conditions you can exploit to equalize the situation and defeat your opposition regardless ::confused::

how smart is your captain/brain trust ::confused::  how smart is your opposition even if they command a greater talent pool ::confused:: are they able to command that superiority tactfully to defeat you ::confused:: or can you outsmart them ::confused:: what are their weaknesses and how can you pick a team that can exploit their weaknesses ::confused::

the team you might have to select to frustrate them may not even be your best team but contain talents that would frustrate the opposition.  are you so flexible as to be able to respond to all you see as you go that gives you a hand up ::confused::

you are stuck ketchim, in that declined west indian groove, totally focused on west indies and structures that you intend to employ, and not on the real flow of things. do not have an overall impression of your cricket region anyway and what we have, and can do and use in response to the english.  you not even focused on the english and how to frustrate them.

but allyuh say allyuh want to win but go for Carlos in whose defense the best I can say is ''we don't know'' because he is a rookie.

the only rookie at the moment absolutely worth a shot is Shai Hope in the #3 position

hope is like a race horse..a rookie.  he comes to the race with numbers that are better than all those who have already raced so we know he is good.

in one season he has scored and achieved an earned average  better than all rookies for some years now..better than Leon Johnson, Fudadin and other older players who around for years..against the same opposition.

what that means is that Hope is likely the real deal.  so I am not worried about trying him at all.

Roach admitted he cannot bowl that 20 overs.

SO I am changing the workload by easing off the 20 to 15 .

AND adding someone to finish the daily complement of 90 .

drop him is what I told you...he is a liability if he cannot carry his work load. what is wrong with you ::confused::  wud you like my glasses to see what I said ::confused::


Roach is taking 2/3 wickets a game.  Holder is doing almost the same..Gabe would prolly take just as many and they are fit. 

we don't need Roach to bat.  we don't want to be... or shud not play in expectation that we wud always need to save a game using Roach in the late stages.

drop him, bring in Permaul or Imran Khan to bowl.  give the new ball to Taylor and Holder

Lemme ReIterate : West Indian FAST bowlers can NO longer handle over 20 overs per DAY :

In a bygone era circa  1980s ....this was possible .

BUT the World has changed , the Caribbean has changed :

AND we have to adjust to REDUCE the expectancy of a BYGONE Era.

look here! over the past few days I have said drop taylor and roach....I do not expect that we wud find wicket taking bowlers to replace them so I said pick youngsters with character and propensity to bowl well and groom them.  we wud have to wait on them but that is what building is all about

the taylor and roach came back and bowled but the Pommies still declared..we cud not bowl them out a second time. but we took 17 of their wickets.  but it is clear that taylor is the man we have...that Benn is done..that roach is hobbled..and that Holder is not really fast but he can move the ball a lot.

a hobbled roach shud not be pik.  he shud be rested to repair his body.  through no fault of my own we have no pacemen of class to replace roach but a few promising spinners to choose from.  so I would drop taylor and bring in a either Permaul of Imran Khan.  since I want to take wickets I will pik Khan.

Khan has been a solid first class player in the west indies for 10 years.  he is a determined and solid batsman who can bat anywhere in the order..from 1 to 1.  and Khan can be a devastating spinner..a wicket take of great profusion.  we can get 20-30 overs from Khan per day.  we can get more from Bishoo.  the overs are covered..we have attacking bowlers who may bowl england out

ketchim talk about the overs and the fast bowlers cant carry the over loads.  that is not a problem in my scheme. I am not picking them. how in the hell ketchm cyar understand dat ::confused::  I am not picking roach, no cottrell nor gabe to be the third pacer.  I am not pikkin' a third pacer but a second spin. and even more I having 2 more spinner standing-by

and to top if all off: now that I am charge of west indies cricket I am going to get a pool of fast bowlers ready from who I will be able to pik the best or most needy at all times...

when Delorn Johnson was taking wickets like Hope has been scoring runs a few years ago that was the sign and the time that we had a good on on our hands.  what did that big skunt Otis do...ignore him for Tino Best of all friggin bowlers.

Otis ignored Cummins, Beaton, Jason Dawe and a few others.  it is now 3-4 years up the road and we have no one even close to Taylor and Roach.  Taylor is 29/30 and Roach is broken down.

I wud never let that happen.  I would have all those guys always involved, developing, in situations that enhanced them and kept them ready for west indian service..even if I get sponsors to fund camps where I would have them learning, practicing, in school, playing practice matches to try out what they learn.

why are the players we need directly and a pool or reserves not always ready for duty ::confused::  Delorn Johnson should have been ready and long ago included in the west indies team.  after Gabe broke down he was the man not Cottrell instead Gibson farted around for years with useless Best and here we are.

Moeen Ali,  Root are batsmen first.  Ballance is more of an all-rounder than both of them.  Root and Ali are picked as batsmen.  that they can bowl as well as they do is lucky for england

england does not go out and pick 6 bowlers.  they in fact have 3 bowlers and bits and pieces Ballance, Root, Ali, Jordan who is more bowler than bat.

england in fact selects according to the range of talent they have at their disposal.  england is responsive to the conditions they have to deal with, not trying to make bricks any old way deh feel like.

  it is only allyuh here imposing allyuh structure on the west indies team regardless of the conditions we face..the talent we have at our disposal, the injuries we have etc
