This man is retiring at the peak of his career .
Why is Chanderpaul still hanging around ?

* Jaywardene should have retired after the English tour when his test average was 50.18
* Right now Jayawardene's average has dropped below 50---it's 49.80.

RE: SHIV
* Hope he continues to mentally torture and frustrate you for another few years.
hahahaha
* By the way, after 156 tests Shiv has scored 11,414 runs at an average of 51.88 with 29 hundreds and 63 fifties.
*
SHIV IS YET TO PEAK
. ;D hahahaha

He may not IMHO. Can't see him magically coming back to form and levelling his average. I don't know though, perhaps some notouts or something might help? Can't see it happening myself.

HERE IS HOW JAYAWARDENE GETS BACK TO A 50.00 TEST AVERAGE
* If he scores 100 runs in his next test against South Africa----then his average would 49.81
* In his last 2 tests against Pakistan---assuming he bats in 4 innings----he will have to score 244 runs at an average of 61.00 in order for his overall to get back to 50.00
* So it is possible for Jayawardene to end his test career averaging 50.00
* It would be unfortunate if Jayawardene ends his illustrious test career with 11,500+ runs and averages less than 50.

This is the third time Mahale Jayawardene has scored a Test 100 after Kumar Sangakkara's golden duck!
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

What a majestic knock by Jayawardene. His 34th century draws him level with Sunil Gavaskar and Brian Lara and leaves him two behind teammate Sangakkara and Rahul Dravid. Jayawardene's 11th century at the SSC is the highest any batsman has in Tests at one venue.
