Pradeep to Bairstow, full and straight, and the hat-rrick is averted with a drive into the covers!

That has to be it for Compton. The look on his face as he trundeled back to the pavilion said it all.
All in all, a pretty good day for England. I thought all four seamers were excellent. Good to see Finn's pace back up again, and Woakes has proven himself to be a valuable backup to Stokes with both bat and ball.
Vince will have nightmares tonight thinking about his dismissal. I hope he can get some runs on the board soon as it has been slim pickings for him as of late - for both England and Hampshire.

England should be looking to send Mooen in before Cook - but probably wont.

We have lost a session of cricket, so let’s hope for an action-filled final two. Hales obtains a boundary second ball, angling Eranga through the slip cordon, and survives an lbw review a delivery later - the cherry clipping the bails, according to Hawk-Eye, but remaining with umpire's call. Hales also has his blade beaten later in the piece. England lead by 241.

Pradeep disturbed Root, Vince and Bairstow’s stumps on Saturday but can’t shatter Finn’s here. The nearest he comes to a wicket when he shapes one past the night-watchman’s inside edge. Cook, meanwhile, is looking happy in the England quarters - he'll be out to bat at some point, I'm sure.
