Afghanistan could cause an upset or two in this World Cup. They are a solid T20 side.
Are we doing predictions again this year as we did for
last years World Cup?
If there is enough interest, I'll get a thread started.

That was the real WC Dilly
I have to give the edge to India winning this slogfest, their spinners will negate any good hitting team esp in their house

Agreed on both counts!
India will be hard to beat, especially at home. The other subcontinent teams are rather poor. Australia's bowling is thin, as is England's. South Africa have potential but are one good spinner short, IMO. West Indies have lost key players but will still be in the mix.
These short format slogfests do minimise teams advantages. They are more of a coin flip than the longer formats of the game where real quality makes a difference.

Afghanistan and Zimbabwe both won their respective opening matches by 14 runs. Ultimately, the match between these two will decide which team advances to the Second Round.
On the one hand, I would like to see Afghanistan advance. Their growth has been fun to watch over the last 2 years. On the other hand, Zimbabwe desperately need to qualify. They have been in decline for so long now that failure to qualify for the Second Round would be disastrous, plus Hamilton Masakadza is an underrated superstar that deserves to grace the later stages of this tournament.

Bangladesh vs Netherlands today.
Netherlands have beaten England before in World T20, but it is difficult to predict their performance in this tournament since they seem to be in decline. Bangladesh are much stronger opponent and have already beaten fancied teams like Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. I predict it will be an easy win for Bangladesh unless they get skittled for a small total.

Bangladesh have scored a good total of 152; should be a challenging task for Netherlands. They are doing OK right now at 73 - 2 but will need someone to fire up soon. A few balls ago Bangladesh made the most ridiculous appeal for obstructing the field when Borren was not even looking at the ball and was just going along the same path.
