Some of Oman's cricketers may not fit the stereotype of the muscled modern athlete, but boy they showed they can play.

Scotland have been eliminated from further contention after their loss against Zimbabwe. This sets up a winner take all showdown between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe on Saturday.
The winners will be drawn in Group 1 where they will face West Indies, South Africa, England and Sri Lanka.
I think Afghanistan may squeak this one out and advance.

Some trouble for today's matches at Dharamshala. It has been raining a bit and the ground is fully covered. Both today's and tomorrow's matches are expected to be rained off, which means Netherlands and Ireland have little chance of qualifying now. Oman and Zimbabwe will fight it out for the rights to qualify. The other group is safe since the matches are in Nagpur and the weather is fine there.

I think they should always keep a backup stadium somewhere else just in case. It's not like the other stadiums at different places are blocked or if any spectators would come to watch the matches. They could and should easily relocate these type of matches. Zim is definitely the favorite among the qualifiers.

Gutted for the Netherlands. Something needs to be looked at here. You can't have teams qualifying for the qualifiers and then get sent home because of rain. There surely needs to be a rain day inserted into the schedule.
If the Oman/Bangladesh match also gets washed out, Bangladesh will qualify because of their superior net run rate.

Afghanistan do indeed advance, although in the end they coasted home. This Afghanistan team is building in the right direction, sadly, Zimbabwe is going in the other direction. Unfortunately for Zimbabwe their key man, Masakadza, had a very underwhelming tournament.
Afghanistan will be no push over in the Super 10 stages and may well cause a surprise or two along the way.

Oman face Bangladesh tomorrow to determine which team joins Afghanistan in the Super 10. Would Oman qualifying for the Super 10 be one of the biggest upsets in sports history? It would have to be up there, I think.
Hopefully rain doesn't interfere with this one and we get this match completed in its entirety.
