IT WILL BE GROSSLY DISRESPECTFUL FOR THE WICB TO DROP SHIV WITHOUT A FAREWELL TEST
* The great servant of WI cricket and most capped player deserves a farewell test.
* India gave Tendulkar a farewell test.
* South Africa allowed Kallis a farewell test.
* Australia allowed Ponting a farewell test.
* Sri Lanka allowed Jayawardene a farewell test.
* WILL THE WICB GIVE SHIV A FAREWELL TEST OR WILL THEY JUST DROP HIM ?
* You just don't drop a man who has represented you in 163 tests.
* Shiv should be given a farewell test in the Caribbean---that should be the Barbados test against England or the Aussie test in June.

* BULLshyt! Shiv does not have a lot of test cricket left in him.
* By the way Shiv is a statistical great---just like Border and Waugh---but he cannot lace the boots of extraordinary greats like Lara, Viv, and Sobers.
* If Shiv foolishly keeps playing he'll end up like Jayawardene---test average below 50.
* Anyway, Shiv may get lucky and play the WI remaining tests in the Caribbean---1 versus England and 2 versus Australia----but no way will he be allowed to tour Zimbabwe.

* I have come to the conclusion that Shiv(11,842) is psychologically fearful of surpassing Lara's record 11,953.
* If that is the case then he should just announce his retirement at the start of the Barbados test.
* If that is not the case then Shiv's last series should be against Australia in June.

If the WI wins or draws a test versus Australia---Shiv will be forgotten in a millisecond. But once they keep losing Shiv supporters will keep reminding the world what a disgrace it was for Shiv not to be given a farewell test.

Quote from: The Chairman on Yesterday at 07:03 PM
well sad that he didnt get a chance
========================
* Shiv(11,867) has only himself to blame for not surpassing Lara's 11,953 and also for not becoming the 6th batsman in history to reach 12,000 test runs.
* Go back and analyze Shiv's last 6 test matches---he was extremely tentative---it looks like he was deathly afraid of getting out, so instead of playing positively, he chooked and poked and prodded.
BOTTOM LINE:
* For most of his career Shiv played 2nd fiddle to the great Lara and so it's only fitting his career ends with him being 2nd to Lara in terms of runs scored playing for the West Indies.
* I still maintain that the WICB should have given Shiv a farewell test. But do I believe Shiv would have scored the 87 runs needed to surpass Lara's 11,953 ?
* THE ANSWER IS NO!
* I am just happy Shiv ended his career with a 51.37 test average----that's a great average by an outstanding batsman.
