* When Shiv reached 50 the WI were 204/6
* The WI then lost 4 wickets for 11 runs.
* Even Allah would struggle to convert playing with inept teammates like Shiv does.
BOTTOM LINE:
* It would be nice if Shiv could score 4 more fifties in his test career----that would bring his total scores of fifty or more to 100----he'll join Tenduklar, Kallis and Ponting----batsmen with 100+ scores over fifty.

I was referring to the number of 50s in total Shiv has scored, second to Sachin I believe, and , my point is compared to his centuries, his conversion rate is low.
Unlike you i just want to see Shiv do well for the team, whatever that might be.
Think about what you are saying please.

* You are absolutely correct! Shiv's overall CONVERSION RATE is low---Shiv has scored 30 hundreds and 66 fifties---that's a CONVERSION RATE(30/96) of only 31.25%
* The great Lara scored 34 hundreds and 48 fifties---his CONVERSION RATE was an excellent 41.4%
* Tendulkar scored 51 hundreds and 68 fifties---his CONVERSION RATE was an excellent 42.8%
* Sangakkara has scored 38 hundreds and 51 fifties---his CONVERSION RATE is an excellent 42.6%
* Shiv's ordinary CONVERSION RATE is similar to Alan Border---he had 27 hundreds and 63 fifties---a CONVERSION RATE of 30.0%
===============
* By the way, in Shiv's first 50 test he scored only 2 hundreds but had 23 fifties----his CONVERSION RATE after 50 tests was only 10%
* But in his last 111 tests Shiv has scored 28 hundreds and 43 fifties---a CONVERSION RATE of 39.4%
BOTTOM LINE:
* Shiv will never be in the same league as a Lara or Tendulkar
he is more of an Alan Border, Steve Waugh kind of batsman.

Haha!!! When Shiv retires, will Rev suffer from 'separation anxiety' ? Just kidding Rev, but I'm surprised as a 'numbers man', you've not quoted these stats for Shiv or maybe you did and I missed it ;D
66 Number of Test fifties scored by Shivnarine Chanderpaul, second only to Sachin Tendulkar who scored 68.
27104 Balls faced by Chanderpaul in Tests. From matches where balls-faced data is available, only three batsmen have faced more deliveries: Rahul Dravid (31258), Sachin Tendulkar* (29437) and Jacques Kallis (28903).
8 Number of years since Chanderpaul has been run-out in Tests. He was run-out against New Zealand in Napier in 2006. This is the fourth time he has been run-out in his Test career.
890 Runs scored by Chanderpaul in South Africa, the most by a West Indies batsman. He went past Lara (841) during his 50 in the second innings.

*
A lot of his detractors and haters are pleading with Shiv to quit test cricket.
* But Shiv is not a quitter.
* He plays for a losing team, but Shiv fancies himself a WINNER.
* THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE.
* Shiv has scored 11,775 runs at an average of 52.33 with 30 hundreds and 66 fifties.
* SHIV IS A GENUINE WINNER AS A BATSMAN.
* Shiv's recent series against South Africa was disappointing.
* But his failure in the SA series has made the TIGER hungrier than ever.
*
THE TIGER WILL BE BACK TO HIS NORMAL RUN SCORING SELF VERSUS ENGLAND AND AUSTRALIA.
* You can bet the house and farm the Tiger will surpass 12,000 test runs at a 50+ test average. ;D

* The BCCI allowed Tendulkar and Dravid to retire when they chose to.
* The South African cricket board allowed Kallis to retire when he chose to.
* The Australian cricket board allowed Ponting to retire when he chose to.
* The Sri Lankan cricket board allowed Jayawardene to retire when he chose to.
* If the West Indies cricket board has an ounce of class and integrity they will allow Shiv Chanderpaul to retire when he chooses to.
