Well base on the talent available in the region I would say this this the best squad. I am happy to see Taylor back in the odi format and also good to see Samuels being given a chance at redemption. Should be a good odi series and there may be some West Indies upsets. There are no players that are not in the squad that I believe should be there.

MAPPIPPEE,
No Blackwood!
What are Sammy, Smith and Samuels doing in this squad?
Are you happy with this squad?

Mail correctly observes : No Blackwood ?
I can only assume IPL dudes are accustomed to INDIA pitches and conditions .
So they get the nod ??
Rowe992 : these are mostly 20 over players whom will have a problem with 50 .
they suffer from ADD (attention deficit disorder) : exception is Phil's nephew !
The Fab 4 of : Sammy , Russel , Tarzan ,Pollard is well described by Trinidaddy ;D

* Damn right to change your avatar.
* Lloyd forgot that it was old man 39 year old Rohan Kanhai who helped him win that world cup finals in 1975.
* If Lloyd had sense he would have pushed for the experienced Chanderpaul to open in onedayers.

I agree on the Blackwood omission but not on Shive. in fact I have nutten to say on Shive and OI's
its possible that lloyd arks Shive and Shive say no..he want to play tests as long as possible and that wud be too much at 40
it was wrong to leave out Shive at 35-36. f40 is another matter ::confused::
until I kno wha go orn I have nutten to say.
keep yuh Avatar ketchim. doh be too fast on the draw ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL::

Avatar scrapped : No Shiv in ODI leading up to WC : no Lloyd support from me.
As Rev correctly points out a grey hair Kanhai played the Inaugural WC '75
This Restraint of Trade must CEASE !

a fitting crown for the great man's career...the inaugural WC. note he did not continue after that. it was a one an' done thing..a salute to Kanhai and his great career
I dont want shive to play in anything but tests for the next longest while. I wud hate for Shive to get injured in ODI and cant play tests, risk the remainder he has to offer in tests where we really, absolutely, desperately need him.
Shive by using him right.
TESTS ALONE!
