An average of 60+ is very dominant in my view and the strike rate is okay. I think people are really taking this strike rate issue out of proportion when they are analyzing a test batsman. Strike rate in test is not all that important and as long as it is greater than 30 then I am okay.

* Only 3 batsmen in history have ended their careers with an average of 50+ and a STRIKE RATE of 60+ ---Richards, Lara and Hayden.
* Those 3 are bonafide DOMINANT test batsmen.
* Gayle has a STRIKE RATE of 60+ but his test average is only 42----so he can't be deemed to be dominant.
* Sehwag has a strike rate of 80+ but his average was below 50----so he misses out on qualifying as a bonafide dominant batsman.
* Gilchrist's strike rate is 80+ but his test average is 47----so he misses out on being a bonafide dominant batsman.
* To qualify as a bonafide dominant batsman you have to have a 50+ average and a 60+ strike rate.
* Gary Sobers averaged 57+ and has a strike rate of 53+ ----he was a bonafide great batsman but he was not a DOMINANT batsman----Viv and lara are bonafide dominant batsmen(50+avg/60+ SR).
