* Glad to hear that!
* By the way, there is a good chance Shiv will surpass 12,000 by the end of 2014.
* THE 40 YEAR OLD TIGER IS STILL HUNGRY.

* In the past 12 months Shiv has played in 8 tests---15 innings---and has scored 584 runs---that's 39 runs per innings.
* Let's assume that Shiv bats in all 14 innings in the remaining 7 tests in 2014 and let's assume he continues scoring at the same rate he has been scoring in the past 12 months----that's 39 runs per innings.
* That means Shiv will score 546 runs in the upcoming 7 tests.
* Do the math: 11,414 + 546 = 11,960
* He moves past Lara(11,953) ;D But he is still 40 short of 12,000.

Krish you are right Shiv is respected so this issue of HATERS is a misnomer!
When you see a great player falling and views are expressed these views are more realistic rather than HATERS!
Last test series was the worse I have ever seen Shiv play, irrespective of what numbers are presented.
He looked confused and all at sea playing with his pads and getting out is a school boy manner.
For me it was as sad to watch akin to when Holmes beat Ali!
Personally I do not care about the 12,000 number, I just want to see Tiger play and instrumental part in reviving this team as his last years are ushered in.
I do wish he does well in the next 5 tests as it is not easy to have sporadic International play as the majority of Test players do play ODIs.
This is my fear for Shiv and it does not matter how good you are or have been, if you do not have regular appropriate exposure your game suffers.
This whole emphasis on 12k, the not outs etc takes away the importance from why Shiv is playing and can create the haters as he will be purely viewed as selfish.
However I think Shiv's style is universally accepted.

HERE IS SHIV VS INDIA IN INDIA
* In 8 tests/15 innings in India Shiv has scored 624 runs---78 runs per test---at an average of 52.00 with 2 hundreds and 1 fifty.
HERE IS SHIV VS SOUTH AFRICA IN SOUTH AFRICA
* In 11 tests vs South Africa in SA Shiv has scored 799 runs---73 runs per test---at an average of 42.00 with 2 hundreds and 5 fifties.
BOTTOM LINE:
* The probability favors Shiv averaging his usual 73 runs per test versus India and South Africa.
* By the way SHIV's CONSISTENCY---% of scores over 50----has dipped recently----OLD AGE.

* There is no question Shiv has been "falling". In the past 12 months Shiv has played in 8 tests. He has scored 584 runs at an average of 53.09 with only 1 hundred and 4 fifties.
* Shiv's test ranking has also dropped---he is now the #6 ranked batsman in the world.
* POOR SHIV--- a 53 average in the past 12 months---and a lowly #6 test ranking.
* In the meantime the great Darren Bravo has averaged a massive 42.07 in 7 tests he has played in the past 12 months---and he has scored 2 majestic hundreds---Bravo is also the 22nd ranked test batsman in the world---a rising star---pure greatness.
* So while Shiv is "falling" with a 53 average, West Indians believe Bravo is rising with that 42 average.
