Hussain can and is credited, along with Duncan Fletcher, as being the Architect of a winning England team following the debacles of the 80s. With Fletcher they were instrumental in positioning central contracts, fostering a genuine work ethic and professionalism and industriosness and we recall the win in almost darkness in Pakistan as the manifestation of the Hussain Fletcher ethos.
