Powell is far worse! Powell has no real cricket personality or character.
look at him! he has a lot of natural skill but he cant do anything with it for very long. he gets in, looking nice, a few flowing 44444444s..good looking defence..reaches late twenties and that's it. he gets out most times at that point. other times he make very little
the best he can do is bat for his average...25. he has nothing more to give than that.
back in the day lil Bravo and Powell would not smell their regional teams far less west indies

* The expectations for LIL Bravo are too high.
* The reality is Lil Bravo has a first class batting average of 38.70---and a test average of 43.90(30 tests)
* Can Lil Bravo raise his test average into the 50s----like all greats ?
BOTTOM LINE:
* Great batsmen know how to manage RISK
they score runs at a high average(50+) and a superior strike rate.
* If Lil Bravo ends his career averaging in the mid 40s---he would have had an excellent career.
* He has played 30 tests to day.
* He averages 31.50 in 13 tests at HOME---1 100 and 4 50s
* He averages an excellent 53.68 in 17 tests away--5 100 and 4 50s
BOTTOM LINE:
Lil Bravo's test will come in the 3 series following the Bang series----SA, ENG and AUS.

I know my cricket. if lil Bravo is having trouble with the Kiwi, Indian and Bang he will not do well against the Oz. they really kbnow how to play cricket and they will terrorize lil Bravo
Lil Bravo may do better against RSA and england in the west indies. but he must tighten-up emotionally

Shiv's massive failure in Barbados(15 & 25) caused him to lose 24 ratings points---he dropped from 878 to 854.

CHECK THESE AVERAGES IN THE NZ SERIES FOLKS:
72.33---Brathwaite
63.00---Blackwood---1 test/1 innings
48.75---Shiv
45.00---Holder
41.60---Gayle
37.00---Bravo
35.80---Ramdin
27.40---Edwards
* Now! Shiv averaged 48.75---higher than Gayle, Bravo, Edwards---and you have folks over at CC calling for Shiv to retire.
* The truth is Those folks can't stand the thought of Shiv becoming the highest runs scorer in WI history.
* I guess he is not BLACK enough for them
.
* Kirk Edwards averaged 27.40 and no one is calling for him to be dropped----but Shiv averages 48.75---and there are calls for him to retire.
* IT PAINS SOME FOLKS TO SEE THE UNITY HINDI BAI BECOME THE HIGHEST RUNS SCORER IN WI HISTORY.

I don't blame Shiv's performance solely on old age. He just had a bad series full stop. When other players consistently under perform we don't attribute this to their age. Shiv has been an outstanding player for West indies throughout the years and he is allowed to have one bad series.

He had a poor series and still averaged well above 40, nearly 50. Nuff said. Blackwood played just one match - so as unfair as his dropping was, it's also not fair to put his name up there when it comes to averages - 5 innings vs 2 really.

If i am to guess it right everyone is looking for this.Shiv would dobetter if he considers each of his tests as his last.This is a failure series for him and not what we all expected.
For the first time in 156 tests has shiv been stumped,maybe he should concentrate more,but we can't judge him just like that.
