Difficult and perhaps impossible to compare era although averaging almost 100 runs for every single innings you have batted is phenomenal.
However Bradman, in my humble view, is not as great as purported as he really only played either at home or in England.
He really did not experience the range of conditions many players did.
Headley was prolific he played away against England, Australia and India but he was a home specialist averaging 78 to 47 away.
Bradman played against india and sA but always at home. He played 33 of his 52 tests at home and all 19 away games against England. His lowest average of 75 was against the Windies.

Sangas real average is 44 (away vs non minnows) or 53 (everywhere minus minnows). He averages in the 30s in 4 countries. He is the most overrated great batsman since Darren "thunder pants" Sammy.

* Only 1 batsman in the history of test cricket has scored 11K+ plus runs at a 50+ average and a 60+ strike rate.
* That batsman is this man:

* And so Brian Charles Lara is the best batsman after Bradman.
* Anyone who thinks Sangakkara is the best after Bradman is a bloody idiot.
* Sangakkara has great numbers----just like Dravid, Kallis, Ponting, Border, Waugh and Chanderpaul have great numbers
but none of these is in the same league as Sobers, Lara, Richards and Tendulkar.

You can't look at it in a single perspective.Let us take tests for instance,i would rate Lara as the best followed by Rahul Dravid and sachin a distant 3rd.
If its ODI's,Without an iota of doubt, its Sachin Tendulkar, followed by Ricky ponting at close second.

RE: DRAVID
* He is not be on the same platform as Lara or Tendulkar.
* DRAVID and CHANDERPAUL are in the same league.
* But Dravid is not an ELITE or EXTRAORDINARY great like Lara, Tendulkar, Richards, Sobers, and Bradman.
* Check Dravid's average against Australia, England, South Africa, WI and NZ
non subcontinent teams----he did not average 50 against those teams.
* But Dravid put up great numbers overall----he ended his career with a 52+ test average----but he is not an ELITE/EXTRAORDINARY great.
