I wont go all dat far.

the food is also poisoned with a lot of chemicals...the water too.

and oils is one area of food production that the food companies play a whole lot of dangerous games with oil.

yuh shud check into that.  yu would be shocked.  I used to use sunflower oil when I made roti..and pure virgin olive for everything else.

I had no idea if I was getting the oil I paid for..so I paid in hope.

right now I use olive oil when I have to use oil..which is very infrequently.  and I do that because I cant get coconut oil easily up here.  and often when I do see coconut oil I dont trust it in the forms I see it in.

deh send oil here in a kind of congealed fat form.  when we used to make our own oil at home in the westindies we made pure oil right in we kitchen and even in the fridge it never congealed or clad-up as far as I remember.

I bought dry coconut and tried to make my own oil but cant remember yet how my mom and dem did it.  I will soon get one of dem to tell me and mek the thing myself

often, wat google know and wat the old people in the westindies knew and did, dat was good and wholesome, are 2 different things.

I tend not to to truss google, wicky wacky and all such...so I never google or wicky wak fus' thing

I google only wen I have too.....never as first reaction

I did not need for eg., wicky wacky to tell me dasheen, peanuts, cassava and a whole lot more, are poisonous.

i knew dat from ah chile from my mother, who not only knew them, but could extract the posions demselves, and turn them to positive uses.

todays 'science' has put names to the substances and all that, can discrete dem and even synthesize dem.

but we knew them by heart from long long time ago

well of course :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

but all the old women cud do dat.  some of dem were medicine women who had all kinds of curatives dat did not need no doctor..made doctor obsolete n those times.
now that western medicine come along deh only codify what all old societies used to do.

western medicine/science make all kinda lying claims for itself but it rests squarely on a basis alrealy long laid in Africa, india and China..a basis without which there wud be no western medicine.

about the only thing they can claim s almost entirely western is weapons development manufacture...WMD.

so your mother cud not extract the poisons from bitter cassava?

and your mother never tell you dat calloo bush is poison wen yu notice dat even goat, dat eat everything period, did not eat calloo bush?

my mother told me dat.  and wen I ask so how come we make callaloo with it she say wen it cook the poision neutralise
