deh wont win tonight. Indy has them figured out and I don't see that Toronto has any alternative save Valencunis.
I was asking myself the question all season long: should a team shut down Raptor guards what would they do ::confused::
well that is what Indy did second half Saturday. they picked up Lowry/DeRozan early, kept them up around the perimeter, all but eliminating good routes to the basket. cluttering up the lanes shut out DeRozan attacking the rim his strong suite.
Valencunis was having a good day because of Indy's focus on the Raps guards. he is the only option they have that may make a positive difference but he must avoid fouls.
Toronto desperately needs real talent at the 3 or 4... or both
Lowry is neither a consistent star type nor clutch player. DeRozan is better but the Raps need 3 point shooting in a big way tonight. they got to cut loose on the 3 pointers tonight neutralizing the Indy trap on the guards..as well as to use Valencunis on the inside, up on the rim.
but Masai must get at least one really talented 3 or 4. maybe Powell will develop into a quality forward. there is too much dead wood on the Raps bench as threes and fours. for gods sakes why don't they let Ross go. he is not a real contributor. he cant..he is not good enuff.
Cory Joseph is doing a very decent job. Biyombo as well. but there is a bunch of players on the Toronto roster who collectively do not make any dam positive difference at all when the chips are down. Terrence Ross, Jason Thompson, James Johnson, Patrick Patterson, Lucas Nogueira, Bruno Caboclo...all these guys combined do not rate one talented 3 or 4.
Luis Scola is supposed to be clutch in the play offs due to his world of experience. what the hell happened to him Saturday ::confused::
Real talent Masai. you have to pay for real talent. pay for it..not 60 mil for guys like DeMarre Carroll.
I want to see Carroll on George tonight. he has to shut down George. can he do it? not likely

Demarr Carroll looks rusty from that injury lay off.
I wanna see more court time for Corey Joseph as well .
The boy is a natural hustler !

I am not watching this game.....but:
I know that Indy will try to shut down thr Raps guards..which would give Caey to attack with the 3, 4 and 5.
the attack 5 is Valencunis...and his best attack forward is Powell. he has to play those 2 guys attack with them and make Indy pay, while freeing up the guards.
