Former West Indies Test fast bowler Fidel Edwards says he is available to play in this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and hopes he is selected for the Barbados Tridents.
Fresh from completing his third season with the English county side Hampshire, Edwards said he was fit and ready to play in the sixth edition of the popular T20 league slated for August.
“I would love to put my name back in the auction. I wasn’t available last year because of injury, but I am eager to play this year. From the first time CPL was launched, I wanted to play for Barbados, but it just didn’t happen. Hopefully, I can get the chance to play for Barbados this year.
“My aim is to play more T20 cricket this year. CPL is high on the agenda,” said Edwards, who last played in the CPL in 2015 for the St Lucia Zouks.
