Global oil and gas company, TechnipFMC, has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited, for delivery of the subsea system for the Payara development project.
Payara, ExxonMobil’s 3rd development at the Stabroek Block, was approved by the Guyana government on Wednesday paving the way for final investment decision by ExxonMobil.
TechnipFMC said it will manufacture and deliver the subsea production system, including 41 enhanced vertical deep-water trees and associated tooling, six flexible risers and ten manifolds along with associated controls and tie-in equipment.

Pieton said the company continues to develop and deliver the most advanced proven subsea technologies enabling these developments with the schedule certainty required for the Payara Project first oil.
“In support of this project, TechnipFMC will continue hiring and training Guyanese engineers,” the company said.
In August, TechnipFMC invited Guyanese companies to submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the construction of facilities it needs to support its subsea projects offshore the South American country.
The company said for its ongoing projects in Guyana, it will be providing Enhanced Vertical Deepwater Trees (EVDT), Tooling, Manifolds, Controls and Tie-in Equipment.
Payara is located approximately 193 km (120 miles) offshore Guyana with water depths of 1,500 m (4,900 ft) to 1,900 m (6,200 ft).
