Mail,
do you recall this story? ::LOL::
www.sporting-heroes.net/cricket/west-ind...file-1972-81_a01568/
Only 5ft 4in and of Indian stock, Alvin Kallicharran showed the courage and indomitability of the little man in international cricket, no more so than in his spectacular attack on the bouncers of Dennis Lillee at the Oval in the 1975 World Cup. The previous night Kallicharran and Rohan Kanhai had been sipping lager next to a harder drinking Lillee and Thomson. "Lillee said to Rohan: "Now then Master, where are you going to hit me tomorrow, " Kalli recalled. "I'm not batting. This little so-and-so is going to take you apart, " said Rohan. "When I was taking guard I remembered what Rohan had said to this man and I thought "Oh, My God!" It just happened that day I played as well as I ever played."

Last I saw of him was at Bourda...him and the Babu were watching a game.
Maybe Mail can shed some light.

Googs,
I have to say I do not quite recall that specific story but we all know how disciplined Kallicharan was because of his racial abuse!
When he talks publicy, he somethime makes his treatment seem normal....just shows the sort of man he is.
A few of the many reasons I am such an admirer of Kalli is the ease at which he accumulated, which he did so well for Warwicks, his timing, his upright stance, speed of hands, his calmness and his ability to be destructive.
As I have said above, yes Kalli had a poor run of about 12 tests but after being dropped, he was a Wisden Cricketer of the year for the 1972 season and he was never recalled.

Googs,
Which game at Bourda was that?
Do not know much about the Babu's son but i know Kalli's lad has had some health concerns which is best not posting here although it is in the public domain.
However he has done some charitable fund raising which was a good thing!
