11 without loss after 2 overs
1.4 Pattinson to Guptill, FOUR, short and wide, and there is that positive batting that McCullum promised.
1.2 Pattinson to Guptill, FOUR, a half-volley, and Guptill on-drives it past the bowler .

21 - 1 after 6 overs
5.6
Pattinson to Guptill, OUT, that's an anti-climactic wicket
MJ Guptill c Burns b Pattinson 18
3.1
Pattinson to Guptill, no run, dropped at short leg. It is Joe Burns

New Zealand are really struggling at 36/3 after 20.3 overs. I hope McCullum can bring them back to some semblance of a respectable score.

Is McCullum playing on the same pitch as the rest of the New Zealand batsmen?
Lunchtime score 74/3:
McCullum 37 off 18 balls
Williamson 8 off 64 balls

Great day full of entertainment. The fastest test century, that too after the batting team had lost 3 wickets for nothing and their best batsman sometime later. McCullum was absolutely unbelievable and it's nice to see him going ff on a high. How many great players can say they hit a century in their last match, let alone the fastest one?

The fastest Test century of all TESTS
427 runs and 11 wickets in 86 overs
Four stunning catches (the best of them off a no-ball) :-[

Off hand, the players I can recall scoring a century in their last Test match include Barry Richards, Nasser Hussain, Vijay Manjrekar, Mohammad Azharuddin, Subba Row, Greg Chappell, Saeed Anwar, Aravinda de Silva and perhaps the most unlikeliest of all, Jason Gillespie, who scored 201 not out in his final Test.
Jack Russell (born in 1887) is the only batsman to my knowledge to score a century in both innings of their final Test match.
