You're not sure it was wrong only on the count of being stupid ???? Try disrespectful, sexist, inappropriate, unprofessional etc. for starters even if it was intended as a joke !!!.........

If it had been the other way round, and the presenter had said those comments to Gayle, would she have been publicly lambasted the way Gayle has been? Would she have been fined and sacked from her role? Of course she wouldn't, it would probably have been laughed off and forgotten about by now.
What Gayle did was all of the things you said, but they can all come under the umbrella of being stupid. The outcry and the backlash is a little ridiculous but that's just my opinion on the matter, and I'm sure others will have their own.

There is much evidence where women make very lewd comments which men would not get away with.
An older woman can make comments about young men and it is seen as banter so it is quite true we are not on alevel playing field.
All this said, Gayle's behaviour was quite inappropriate in a professional setting. Ask her out privately if you wish and had he stopped at his first comment it would have been more acceptable.
I do not think he meant any malice but he is widely travelled and should realise the level of behaviour required.
The reactions from Australia, especially from the likes of Ian Chappell, is absurd and as idiotic as Gayle's behaviour. I have to admit I have never really taken much note of this presenter, as I have always felt she was average, but because of this incident some people would take note to see what all the fuss is about.....I certainly would not.
In my view a warning and a fine sufficed instead of all this brouhaha.
Everyone should feel safe in their work environment but sometimes we do not allow common sense to prevail.

Maybe so and I like and appreciate Gentlemans' behaviour .....
However Ketch, I can view the situation from all perspectives ... cultural from a Windies point of view, joke wise and over the top from Gayle the ladies man and the entertainer ego 'universe boss', inappropriate in a workplace environment, unacceptable in a TV interview re cricket etc. etc. .... and definitely Gayle was outta place !!! I'm still on the fence as to how the journo should've handled it......
I also see it as a media frenzy as is the way of Australian media to pursue a story on and on and on !!!

Why are we still having this convo after almost 2 weeks of this being stuffed down our throats via TV, radio and social media? ...
I am so done with it and most of the Aussie public are ... as per their comments in response to the media !!!
