1. LOL. This West Indies team doesn't even make sense. It's like everything they do is in conflict with the fundamental laws of common sense.
2. Dwayne Smith lifted his average from 18 to 19. Well done Smith.
3. Gayle can't bat anything that isn't in his comfort zone.
4. Gayle ran-out Marlon Samuels. Nice.
5. Carter has a weird obsession with sweep/pulling balls that are wide off the off-stump. You must not do this.
6. This game is yet more proof that Paint would have been perfect as our opener. We have been saying this long before the World Cup started. Everyone with cricket sense knew he should have been on this team, and that we struggle to last 50 overs without guys like him. If Kane Williamson and Dravid can play ODIs, Paint can too.
7. West Indies should have put India in to bat first. The coaches are inflexible, unimaginative and don't learn from history. We know India loves us to bat first, loves us to choke, and loves chasing. Just because sides batting first in this World Cup have overwhelming been winning, doesn't mean this should be our default position.
8. The West Indies batsmen need to focus on hitting fours and cut down on the sixes. Sixes are ruining their shot selection and preventing them from spotting far safer scoring opportunities.
9. Holder can bat really well. He played two shots in particular that demonstrated that he is very smart and very skilled at finding gaps. The way he took strategic singles and farmed the strike was also hugely mature. He also frequently talked to our tail-enders, instructing them to play sensibly and stick in there with him. They ignored him. You sense only Sammy and Holder have any kind of team passion.
10. When batting, Taylor is a show-off and needs to listen to his captain. Instead of sticking out the last ten overs, he kept playing loose strokes.
11. With over 15 overs to go, Andre Russell came in with enough time to settle in and prove he's not just a frenetic cowlasher. Instead he hits his second ball for six and gets out in his subsequent over.
12. Gayle shouldn't open every game. Float him around and let bowlers open once in a while.
13. Holder should have bowled out Roach and Taylor. Why go spin when we needed 4 wickets?

From cricinfo, POSTED BY TheBigBoodha on | March 6, 2015, 19:01 GMT:
"Yep. Concur with the criticism of Holder's captaincy. The decision to bat first was farcical, given that there was a bit of spice in the pitch and that India love chasing. Then it was pure slap-stick comedy in the final overs, with a dibbly dobbly medium pacer and mediocre spinner on with Dhoni out there, the guy with the bottom handed scoop grip, and one of the world's worst batsmen against pace and bounce - at Perth, with three good pace bowlers mere spectators! Somehow I don't think Michael Clarke would rest Starc, Johnson and Cummins and bring on Watson and Maxwell in the same situation. Just incompetence of staggering proportions. No wonder the WI can barely win a game these days."

The BigBoodha is an Ass of no mean proportions !
Jason did well : Smith got Jaddu , Jerome was not as expected.
Russel bowled 2 Nos and was lucky with the 2 Free Hits ...
Samuels got thru overs quickly to tighten the NRR at 40 overs !
Brilliant Captaincy !

Yadav and Jerome was 147 kph
Russel was at 145 kph : got warned twice for too many bouncers and overstepped that cost us 2 Free Hits...
Roach coming back from Injury and lay off was at 142 and below and looked like he still needs a rest !

It's hard to talk about Ramdin. He either gives you 50, or 20 or less. He tends to look much more fluid and comfortable than everyone in the top-order, yet gets out oddly.
The problem with all our batsmen, is they can't string together 2 good performances, back to back. When I used to play cricket, we used to always change the batting order. A number 5, 6, 7 would come in 1, 2, or 3, and vice versa, the batting order always moving, and everyone at the top was expected to bat long. The coach said this forces everyone to shoulder responsibility and get used to pressure.
I would throw people like Holder, Ramdin and Russell in the 1, 2, 3 spots occasionally and force them to man up.

I agree with Mikey Holding's comments ....
See here >>>
Jason Holder did well with the bat ... but I too don't understand why he went with Samuels instead of Taylor.
WI lost because we did not make enough runs ... simple as that !! Every commentator I've heard at the WACA (especially the Aussie ones) always say over and over that one has to be patient at the start, play oneself in and after 30 minutes or so, then you'll make runs at the WACA !!

Poor captaincy by Jason Holder is one of the main standouts from this match. Besides the poor batting and indiscipline bowling, the decisions made by the captain at crucial points in the games shows that Holder is not the man to captain West Indies. He had his main bowlers not being bowled out and saving them when the only way the West Indies could have won was to take wickets. He had Taylor not bowling his full 10 overs and yet still giving Marlon Samuels 3 overs.
