I honestly don't know what surprise Lloyd is thinking of......... just a case of wishful thinking, hoping for some kind of fluke ......

Stark reality is staring in the face.  WI are not good enough !!!! .... no where near it !!!

Lloyd a great man ::confused::  maybe an insult to greatness, not a great man!

Lloyd is indeed an imbecile but he has made himself one.  he has chosen to be an arse, skuntishly avuncular so as not to antagonize his betters in life, so he too may rise among them.  that is what Lloyd chose to be after his cricket career..a skunt lackey.

just look at how he conducted himself in the Guyana impasse!  can anyone explain such social incompetence ::confused::

but worse was to come in Lloyd's attempt to win the wicb chairmanship over Skameron.  OMG!  LLoyd looked truly idiotic in that but he did not care..seemingly.

those 2 faux pas' have not hurt Lloyd at all among the 'people who matter'  the relevant power elites.  he has duly been appointed to a very influential position and is making speeches all over the world as a 'dignitary'

so Lloyd was stupid like a fox then, making himself look the arse.  what he was in fact doing was proving to the elite exactly where he stood, that he was safe and for that he hopes he will get what he wants...likely a knighthood/peerage in his adopted homeland, Great Britain

it shud now be quite clear that to me Lloyd is one of the worst west indians ever in cricket over and above his actual record as a cricketer on the field.  I give him his kudos as a batsman of class.  I am now loathe however, to give him anything else except impse. Lloyd now mucks up west indies cricket good for nothing at all administratively and the sooner he gets his english titles and  moves on the better.

maybe he shud migrate to Bim. Bim would gladly add his name to the birthday or year end honors and quickly get him a title.  as a british citizen there is perhaps less chance of he getting anything at all....

Most people acknowledge that great Cappo as Lloyd was ....... and some may differ and say Cappo to a great WI team .............

He has been perceived post Cappo days as somewhat of a 'soup drinker'

understatement misses the size of the damage LLoyd inflicks by joining up the current negative flow, by not providing a proper alternative.

when Lloyd was about to retire..or just after he wrote a whole long article proposing what was then and likely still is a very progressive view for the future of west indies cricket.  also Lloyd did not go to RSA/Rhodesia despite being offered great loot for those days..a million gold Kruggers, while espousing a progressive No! to the offer.

forgive me if I expected much more from Lloyd as cricket administrator.  Lloyd was also  Packer man which was a progressive place to be.  now Lloyd is the absolute opposite of all that.  LLoyd is so deep into bureaucracy the form of admin that is strangling global social life currently, far west indian society and  the cricket I am stunned.  if anyone at all had the gravitas, reputation etc to pull west indies cricket in a positive alternate direction it was Lloyd.

I am not talking socialist..nothing like that..just bringing the admin into line with a positive nationalism that really looked after the cricket first...that stayed true to their principle for being..the cricket.  that is all that could be credibly expected from him with based on what he actually did as cricketer during his time.  and I am sure I am not alone in this...that most west indians expected that that is the positive role Lloyd would have played post on field career.

he has done the opposite and that does notcsit well with me at all about the man.  he is like a child now in a mans world...ridiculous. and it is choice as far as I see..not any personal degeneration of the man physically or emotionally.  he has chosen to be a soup drinker of the worst sort.  it is humiliating

LLoyd comes in as chairman of selectors and actually carries out Skameron's silly vendetta against Pollard and Bravo that surely cost some of the remaining cohesion around the west indian game.  Lloyd appoints Holder as captain a player whose place was and is not even sure..clearly not qualified for the job, would have to grow into the job relative to any real ability he might have to lead the side.

by that Lloyd would have done better to re-appoint Sammy whose level we are certain of as well as his hard trying most times.  but Sammy himself is in the team while Pollard and Bravo are dropped.

well there is no mystery to the damage all that caused and will continue to cause in he cricket.  Lloyd should have stood up to that, refused to do it, stated a clear disgust with that sort of thing.  but he agreed with it, stood by it, defended it and exposed that that is what he believed in, that that is the way our cricket can and must be administered...

well...understatement wont cut it...understating the real negative Lloyd has become in the mix of things.  if Lloyd had become chairman he would have been as big a disaster as Skameron .. minus the egomania but as doddering and avuncular as hell

At this stage the only surprise the West Indies can spring is to make it out of the group stages. This constant talk about West Indies can spring surprise and win the world cup needs to stop. No team that cannot beat Ireland deserves to win the world cup. West Indies will be very lucky if they win two matches in the group stages at it stands now.

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.(13.10.2025, 09:28)(09:28)0
