collapso chasing for the runs shive shud have scored...nah!  I did not miss it!

let me as this...what was the scores when Shiv went in to bat and at the end of day 2? 

How many time has WI collapse between those scores?


We all know Shiv picked up the scoring on day 3.  His strike rate was 69 (per Rev).

this time shive was not responsible to kerry the load..Paint stepped up and was in solid..not giving up anything. shive was free to ramajay with the anchor drop at the other end.  we did not need 2 anchors this time

shive was in an old state of mind. maybe he played for collapse so often it takes a bit of time adjusting to a different and new stability in the line up

Look at the way Shiv mauled Shane Warne in this knock, in Oz and on a turning Sydney pitch.  You mean to tell me he couldn't do this against those crappy Bang Bang bowlers on a featherbed pitch?  Come on guys.

* SHIV IS DUE FOR A 150* IN THE NEXT TEST. ;D

* Let's see what his STRIKE RATE will be.

* In November 2012 Shiv scored 150* in 282 balls versus Bangladesh---that's a 53 STRIKE RATE.

PAGING SNOOPSTER:

* Shiv should look at that video, the 71 versus Australia and Shane Warne in 1996, before every innings he plays.

* He scored that 71 in 68 balls---a STRIKE RATE of 104

* That 71, in my estimation, is a better innings than nearly all the 29 test hundreds Shiv has made.

* Back then, 18 years ago, Shiv played spinners masterfully. He moved his feet and attacked.

* Today Shiv pokes and pushes and pads out and bats like a ninny against spinners---we all saw Ish Sodhi trapping him LBW twice in the WI/NZ series---he was padding out rather than using his bat.

* Anyone who knows Shiv should tell him to look at the video of that masterful innings he compiled against Warne and Australia.

* If Shiv had batted during his career  like the way he did scoring that 71, he would have been an extraordinary great today.

Shiv will be remembered more for his longevity and his name will be in the record books but he could have been great.

QUESTION:

* If the WI had batted at the same runs per over as they did in Nov 2012 when they scored 648---in other words if they had batted at 3.23 runs per over----how much would they have scored in the 160 overs they batted ?

* SIMPLE ARITHMETIC

* The WI batting at 3.23 runs per over instead of 3.03 runs per over would have scored 516 runs in the 160 overs they faced.

* WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 516 and 484

* ANSWER: 30 RUNS

* SO WHAT WAS ALL THE COMMOTION ABOUT REGARDING SHIV BATTING SLOWLY ?

* It was pure and simple PREJUDICE against Shiv.
