Barbados buckled and ACCEPTED the MOVED match :-[
I really wanted the odda Countries to REFUSE the Game :
and leave WICB between a rock and a hard place ...
Force the WICB to leave the match in Guyana as well as accept the new GCB
But , alas !
between a rock and a hard place ...phrase :
In difficulty, faced with a choice between two unsatisfactory options

“It is hoped, that the arrogance and contempt assumed by the WICB, as it purports to give directions to a sovereign Government of a Caricom member state, is noted,†the Guyana government said.

“This Bill does not, in any way whatsoever, allow or permit, directly or indirectly, Government's involvement in the administration of cricket in Guyana, save and except a singular instance, where the Minister is ascribed a function when the Act comes into operation. After that initiating act, the Minister’s role disappears,†the government argued.
“Government, therefore, rejects all or any contention or insinuation that this Bill presents an opportunity for Governmental intrusion into the administration of cricket in Guyana.â€

This may well be the time for Guyana to act independently of the rest of the Caribbean, pull our players out of the West Indies team, and to compete as one nation... GUYANA. It may take a few years with heavy sponsorship to fully develop, but I'm convinced this is the way to go. Who needs the West Indies anyhow. Guyanese should STOP giving their money to Jamaican and Trinidadian entertainers and support more local artiste. How dare the likes of Dave Cameron to give the President of Guyana an ultimatum to respond to his letter? Does he believe he's on the same level with the President of an independent nation? As a matter of fact, Guyanese should boycott ALL cricket games involving the West Indies, and NCN should be barred from carrying telecast of the West Indies vs New Zealand matches. If our country is not good enough to host these games, our money should not go to the WICB for broadcast rights.
