I agree.
There is ZERO kudos to Darren Sammy.
All these bizarre compliments has nothing to do withh Cricket skill !
His character is one of shame and he should be treated with contempt :

So wait, not "standing up" for someone is good enough reason to HATE someone? As I've said before, he shouldn't have been made a captain, let alone stretched his tenure for so long. Yeah whoever that is, it's their responsibility. Not Sammy's. He was made captain and he did his job - whether or not he was competent for that, that's not for him to judge. It's for the selectors/board whoever those guys are.
Where'd he say that BTW - the stability thing?

@boquiesse - wait, is this the quote you're referring to:
“It is not about right or wrong. I was captain at point of stage of all formats. I was asked to captain at a time when the team needed stability. Change is inevitable,†he pointed out.
That's SUCH a misrepresentation of what he said. he said he was APPOINTED at a time when the team needed stability - a fair claim. He didn't say that he BROUGHT stability to the side. Unless you are quoting some other stuff he said, of course.

Yup,but whom should we be blaming here.Sammy never showcase his mettle as a captain and the board was at times unfair to players.Exactly...!! i completely second that piece of statement, this shows him in a bad light in an act of cowardice.Talent alone is not enough.!! You know the case of Rohit sharma right..?? He oozes class but can't stay at the crease for more than 2 min..

Kylester,
I think the issues are based around the mismanagement of Hillaire and Hunte and them both being Lucians placed a fellow Lucia, who could not previously get into the team on merit, as a must pick and leader. If he was an exceptional leader with a track record his selection would have been more palatable.
Both H&H wanted a yes man, a man who would be complicit in whatever they wanted to do without an opinion as a good objective and independent leader would.
This was no more evident than in the shabby treatment of Gayle, Shiv and Sars following the World Cup.
They were not able to mess with Shiv and Gayle but they screwed up Sarwan and arguably the final impact on him is due to his lack of mettle.
These were their best players and remains their best players but Shiv is in the ODI wilderness and Sars....well did not recover from his abuse. Sammy was party to all of this. Similarly Gayle was mistreated and yet again the Captain would have been party to this.
So yes standing up for your players and ensuring you have the best team on the Park is influenced by the Captain so he was complicit in the poor treatment of these lads. You may also know Simmons were on the receiving end of some poor treatment for which he was financially compensated as was Sarwan.
Gayle went to the IPL and made his bat do the talking which is what Sars should have done but failed to do so.
I always felt that Shiv, as age set in, should focus on Tests so I was not overly disappointed with the timing of his omission rather the way it was done and Sammy being a party to that as well. Given the ODI team has done worse without Shiv and he is fit, free from injury and scoring runs so he should be in the team.
The Captain has a say in selection and he has been complicit in ensuring certain players were excluded.
You will therefore find very few people, here and generally, who do not have a genuine 'hate' for Sammy the West Indian Cricketer as he was a poppet, willing to ride the gravy train for as long as he could for his own personal gain. Granted he was placed there but a man of principles and integrity would have stepped down long ago, not four years after.
This is purely on cricketing terms as we are not qualified to judge him a s a person.
There is therefore no confusion in
Irrespective of what happens here in, it is a good day for Windies Cricket. Shame the WICB did not take the opportunity to change the selection panel which, after all, gives the Captain the team. It would also have been the principled thing for Gibson to have stepped down, because after a similar tenure there has been no improvements and he has mismanaged the players, which is a key role for the Coach.
Moores appointed Mushy in his previously brief tenure and now has thanked him and said goodbye as it is time for change.
Well done to Richard Pybus for facilitating a change without a witch hunt immediately after the India and NZ debacle.

Quote from Strokemaker,
While I didn't really like his approach to captaincy, this fella had some serious talent packed in him waiting to explode. But quitting is not an option, especially when you have not been dong good in last couple of seasons.

We all know Sammy was installed by the Hunte/Hilaire cabal ....
But did Sammy jump or was he pushed? and more importantly BY WHOM? ... seems to be conflicting reports ...
as that will determine de way tings go !!

It seems that Sammy was told that he was no longer captain.
Sammy not stupid - when he lost the captaincy of the ODI side he stuck around because he knew that he could probably still make the side.
Sammy knows that he CANNOT make the test side. Plus WI are not playing too much test cricket so his decision is no surprise.
