OK Folks:

* Like the Rev previously mentioned, Shiv Chanderpaul usually struggles to move into double figures whenever he plays against New Zealand.


* These are Shiv's last 7 scores against NZ: 0, 0, 9, 43*, 76, 1, 6

* That's 5 single digit scores in his last 7 innings.


Maybe after chasing balls 2 days in the field----39 year old Shiv was too tired to concentrate at the wicket----next time Sammy should win toss and bat----but then again----Shiv has failed against NZ
in 17 tests he has been ordinary.

* The Numbers don't lie.

* That 38 average by Shiv playing for Derbyshire was very telling.

* For most cricketers---a 38 average would be good.

* But Shiv is a man of higher standards
38 was a fail.

* Shiv looked fluent and great when he made that 76 in the first test.

* But he is back to scoring his usual single digit scores against New Zealand.

* Oh well! The great Sobers failed against NZ---he averaged 23.76 in 12 tests

* Shiv is now failing---his average has dropped to 39.27 vs NZ
