Abstract
This articleexplores the importance of morality, gender, and desire for C. L. R. James’sself-representation as a revolutionary intellectual. Social scientific theo-riesthat depict radicalism as a one-way Caribbean export to the United Kingdomandthe United Stateshave obscured shared traditions across the modern Atlanticworld. Throughout histransatlantic migrations from 1932 to 1952, James traf- ficked in moral frameworksgrounded in heterosexist lessons of discipline, loyaltyand self-denial. As apublic intellectual, he championed the ‘Puritan’ ethics of his protestantmiddle-class family in colonial Trinidad. Inhis private life, James had an unsteady orientation to their moral compass. Thehistoriography of the BlackRadical Tradition has erased women and gender fromthe horizons of revolutionaryaction. The intimacies of radical politicalorganizing in the United Kingdomand the United Statesled James to revise, reject, and reproduce patriarchal values of his colonialupbringing. During the 1940s and 1950s he co-founded the Johnson-ForestTendency, an interracial, intergenerational organization that theorized andorganized for the liberation of women, youth and workers. Despite the Tendency’sintersectionalagenda, James concentrated political power within himself throughthe sexualdomination of women. Confronting a cold war government intent ondeporting him,James staked his claim for UScitizenship on the body of his second wife Constance Webb. An absent husbandand authoritarian political leader, Jamesdenied his political affiliations andmarketed himself to immigration officials as amoral patriarch. In crafting hisintellectual legacies, he censored women from hisrevolutionary biography

here is a bunch of commentators. for eg:
Raja Swamy, "Zionism and Hindutva in the U.S." Ghadar, June 2004.
ghadar.insaf.net/June2004/MainPages/zionism.htm

This article offers a detailed discussion of the links between Zionist and Hindu nationalist organizations and web sites in U.S., such as the fact that the web sites Kahane.org and HinduUnity.org are or were both hosted by a Christian Zionist in Annandale, Virginia. One of the footnotes also points to an interesting ideological divergence within the Hindu nationalist movement: "The hindutva.org website promotes a 'Savarkar' brand of Hindutva which asserts atheistic, militaristic Hindu chauvinism, as opposed to the VHP-Bajrang Dal version which pursues the same with Brahmanic symbolism and ritualism."

Indeed, and perhaps by intention, Webb's memoir, while utterly respectful of the intellect and devotion of James, provides considerable documentation to suggest that the organization had many features of a cult.

In Webb's rendition, the central leaders—James along with Dunayevskaya and Grace Lee, both of whom are depicted as being in love with James—operate without accountability to the membership.
James himself simultaneously engaged in sexual relations with a substantial number of women in the organization, including married ones. He was financially supported by a stipend from a wealthy member, Lyman Paine, and frequently waited on by others; members would sometimes sit at his feet while he reclined on a bed.
When the Johnson-Forest tendency decided to leave the Socialist Workers Party in 1951, the plan was kept a secret so that the tendency members might dramatically rise en masse to depart from their branch meetings at the exact same moment. (For an informative study of the phenomenon of political cults, see Dennis Tourish and Tim Wohlforth, On the Edge: Political Cults Right and Left, 2000.)
here is Wicky Wacky on the Johnson Forest Tendency. Compare ot to Webb for differences:
