The logic is Greek Style ...... ::rofl::
Stock markets lose ground as eurozone ministers put pressure on Greece's
private creditors to accept a lower interest rate on their loans.

how many cases concerning the Patriot Act are/were amended or repealed?
i agree that the punishments associated with Sharia Law are outdated and harsh for both men and women convicted..no denying that.
but same could be said for Singapore where if you spit or spit out gum on the ground the punishment is like 100 lashes or something.....

You missed the point. The point is not whether the Patriot Act was ever amended or repealed, the point is that in our system any law, including the Patriot Act, CAN be amended and repealed. Look at all those segregation laws prohibiting Blacks from drinking from the same fountains as Whites. Those laws were morally unjust and were repealed by the same system that instituted them. Sharia law however, is never subject to the changing norms, values, and morals of a society because it is considered "divine" and therefore cannot be amended or repealed.

The argument should be the Separation of Church and State .
Mad Made Laws versus Religious Jurisprudence.
Man made Statues and Legislation can obviously be amended on man's whim !
and of course , fancy....e.g ....Homosexual marriage !
Biblical, Koranic and Torah Law ....does not tolerate such " whim and fancy "...

Correct, and presently in Canada we as a society consider laws which are intolerant, which discriminates, and which conflict with the principles of equality as unjust laws and contrary to the principles of fundamental justice. So Sharia law, or any other religious law which are rigid and incapable of changing, would be incompatible with our present values as Canadians.

Politicians with Vested interests K.O.s Divine Law.

isnt religious law oxymoron?
faith-based is belief and not fact. law based on belife is bound to conflict with life, to hold back all that is essential in the development of life...social relationships, technological advance, economic advance.
any human practical need will be be aborted where it conflicts with religious based law.
if life is evolutionary, changing and expanding with human movement, development of knowledge and relative activity, all law must be flexible and responsive to such change.
faith-based law is oxymoron

Regardless of Human evolution.
Man made Law is still based on Precedent .
So today , a Man can be sentenced based on a 200 year old case precedent !
Did humanity evolve over that same 200 years ??
