Sharia Law is the least of the Laws anyone needs to worry about. Think about Natural Law and its pending implications on the world and yourselves...that one will strip an individual of all dignity...

what ppl practice in their own country is their business. The Patriot Act is law put in place in America to legalize the 'big brother' actions of the US govnt - where is the democracy in that? Where is the freedom? Or is freedom just a farce to placate[sp] the masses while the powers that be do what they want?

You're right Nargis.  If they want Sharia law in their countries then that is their prerogative right.  But in my opinion, those laws are archaic and the punishments prescribed for transgressing those laws are also archaic and in some instances, barbaric, especially as it pertains to women.  In the west we have laws like the US Patriot Act which severely limit, constraint, and restrict civil liberties.  But our system allows for those laws to be either amended or repealed.  Not so with Sharia law which is considered divine and hence "un-repealable".
