I disagree Rev because if a batsman scores 47 in each innings then that is consistency.

The other example is not consistency by definition. Yes it proves he can score big but is that significant?

I do not see 50 or 100 being magical figures in determining consistency.

Any definition of batting consistency must take into consideration the conversion rate guage.

We know conversion rate is the number of fifties a batsman converts into fifties.

Batting consistency is simply the number of scores over fifty expressed as a percentage of total innings played.


Now mail--put your definition of batting consisteny into words for all to understand---and it must also be quantified.
