That is the crux of the matter. It is painfully obvious that the lady is no professional politician or public speaker. She, as indeed any other member of the government, should not have been thrust into such a position without adequate preparation.
what also went unnoticed is that the interviewer and production team were woefully inadequate and unprofessional. It was their responsibility to ensure that the locale was appropriate (it was not), the guest was positioned properly (she was not), the guest was properly made up (she was not) the distractions were eliminated (they were not), etc. etc.
Overall this was an extremely poor performance with most of the blame going to the production team. They need to understand that sitting somebody down and pushing a microphone in their face is not all that is needed in television production.
