I studied in a school wherein teachers are not that professional and sometimes they take things personally. There was a debate wherein the teacher give grades to students so why not students might as well give grades to their teachers?
In my opinion, students should be allowed to grade their teachers so that the school board will be aware of what kind of teacher a certain individual is and how are the students being treated. However, the grading system should not be fully used against the teacher and if there are any cases of complaints, the school board should still investigate for that matter.
What about you? What are your thoughts about this?
You brought up a very good point. Yes, I totally agree with you. There should be a system to grade teachers too. For some people it may feel awkward but it is the need of the hour. Nowadays teaching is a pure profession and it lacks emotional bondage between the student and the teacher. An ideal teacher has to give attention to all the students and that is his/her job. But teachers usually encourage bright students in the class and ignore others. But ideally that should not be the case. If he is fit for teaching profession he has to bring the dull student to limelight and do everything to encourage him to come up in life. That is the real duty of a teacher. It is rightly said that today’s kids are tomorrow’s responsible citizens and teachers need to play a vital role in this. I think grading teachers can do a great deal in this respect. At least they know every student has the right to grade them and they try to be more attached to their profession.
Ketch....that's exactly what my daughter who teaches high school says.
one GR 12 boy said to her......"I know where you live"!! >
one of the few times she was actually scared.....she has two small boys at home!!
often when I hear people's comments about teachers and their 'perks'......I so would like for them to have a half hour conversation with my daughter.
One of the things she always says is that as a teacher she has to spend way too much of her valuable time 'parenting' the students.
the parents will tell my daughter that they do not have enough time (both parents work) to spend with their child and school work.
daughter called parents all the time to let them know that their kid is not in school......parent said to her "you have to make sure that my son is in class'!!!!!!
I hope this thread develops intelligently, seeking overall understanding and answers, ultimately delineating some possible solution..rather than an approach seeking to blame and punish
well I get concerned with all dem handles...they are all the same according to my calculation.
spin-off. ok!
but there is this great similarity between what has happened to canadian schools..at least in Ontario where we know..and american ghetto school.
ghetto schools according to all reports I have seen are not prisons, jails..police and security guards full time..search and scan and identity check to enter every time for all children...
local schools seem heading straight there..almost there already.
this is canada man. how in the hell can that be happening. what the frigg is going on.... ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::
