VIEUX FORT, St Lucia -- St Helen University in St Lucia is getting ready to swing its doors wide open with its grand opening scheduled for early in the New Year.
Vieux Fort-based St Helen University (SHU) has announced the start of registration ahead of its 2013 opening in January and is offering a number of scholarships to potential students interested in enrolling for its first classes next year.
SHU president, Oma Sewhdat, making the announcement, said: "In keeping with our commitment to be make our high-quality programs accessible to St Lucian students and to offer opportunities to current medical students to be part of our innovative programs delivered by highly-skilled and experienced physicians and medical educators from the US, Canada and the Caribbean, we are offering the following scholarships."
According to Sewhdat, SHU is offering “two full-tuition scholarships to qualifying students, and 50% tuition scholarships to all qualifying St Lucian students who do not get the full tuition scholarships.â€
In addition, he said, “SHU is also offering a 50% one year scholarship to all students currently enrolled in medical programs in St Lucia who would like to join the St Helen program in January 2013.â€
