* Right now old man Shiv struggling to reach double figures whenever he bats.

* Hope by some MIRACLE Shiv can score at least 112 more runs in his next 3 tests(1 vs England and 2 vs Aus)----his tally would then be 11954----and he can then retire.

* In his last 5 tests Shiv has been averaged 31 runs per test----at that crawling rate it would take Shiv 46 tests(1446/31) to surpass Dravid.

* His 50+ test average would then be in the mid 40s.

BOTTOM LINE:

* Shiv must never allow his test average to fall below 50.

* Passing Lara's 11953 would be a nice way for Shiv to end his career.

* If Shiv doesn't pass Lara's 11953 after the Australian series----he should be forced into a Florida retirement home.
