Why Did Ramdin Field First?

I think Ramdin was afraid of the SA pace attack.

The stark truth is that batting first or last probably does not make much of a difference to this WI side.

They are just not good enough. And by and large they don't know how to get quality batsmen out.

Benn outta his depth.

I don't agree that Benn was out of his depth. He was bowling on a pitch giving zero help against 2 of the best in the world.

On day one (on SA pitches) the most one could expect is for containment or hope the batsmen make a mistake. He went for 2.73 runs per over. Roach was 3.28 and both Taylor and Cotterell were 4+

Taylor was the biggest disappointment.

Had I been captain, I would have bowled had I won the toss because of the conditions.

However was a bit perplexed at opening with Cotterell!

Did he know roach was carrying some sort of injury?

Ramdin's captaincy will be criticised as whatever he does will be undermined by his bowlers poor performances!

Now he has lost Roach, Taylor is still absent, Cotterell is raw and Benn is really trying hard.

Now Fudas is out I expect Deo to be called up.

Captaincy is the least of the WI problems.

Unfortunately the WI team sucks and that is not going to get fixed anytime soon.

552 Declared !

Sorry to disappoint you but I've just checked the forecast and it appears that the weather for the rest of the test will be better. As (probably) the only South African supporter on this forum, I have to admit I hope the forecast is correct, but the weather in this part of the world is very unpredictable.

As for the decision to bowl first, Amla would have done the same. The Proteas were so sure of that that they didn't even include a spinner in the team. Time will tell whether that is to our benefit or whether it helps the West Indies.

Hey Gina , we missed you !!

Lookhere,  Van Zyl was drooped on 2 , Amla bail refuse to fall off after his off stump was knocked.

that account for almost 300 runs  :-[

We need some Luck in da form of Rain  Wink
