New Zealand batter Martin Guptill confirmed his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday (January 8). It brings an end to a 13-year career (2009-2022) for the 38-year-old in which he featured in 367 games (198 ODIs, 122 T20Is and 47 Tests). He finishes as the highest T20I scorer for New Zealand with 3531 runs and the third-highest scorer for the country in the ODI format with 7346 runs, behind Ross Taylor and Stephen Fleming. He registered 23 centuries in international cricket (3 Tests, 18 ODIs, 2 T20Is) and made his last appearance for New Zealand in an ODI against Australia in September 2022.
