It is ironic fans bawling about insularity when it is part of the WI culture. Insularity is the norm today and has been embedded and embraced in society long before the internet. You all practice it in some form daily and are probably unaware of it.
WI cricket is a good example of practicing insularity. The board and fans prefer local coaches over foreigners. CWI’s management, coaches, selectors, and captains all engaged in some form of insularity. The team tends to reflect on who voted, coached, and/or captained.
Yet YOU ALL support WI cricket and cultural practices and hardly see anyone speak out about it except for a few.
How do we eradicate insularity from society? It is not going to happen due to human prejudice, myopia, customs, culture, preferences, lack of education, insecurities, insanity, inferiority complex, etc.
So I challenge you all to sort yourself out before we embark on changing society. Avoid posts and comments and even posters who engaged in WI cultural practice you see as insularity.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
