So two out of the three sessions went unequivocally the way of the home side, and that was enough to put them firmly in the driving seat of this first Test. They end day two trailing by 79 runs, but Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das have put on an unbeaten stand of 98, that will have the visitors extremely concerned. Litton's aggression in particular did a lot to unsettle the Lankan bowlers, who would have been looking to build on a fruitful post-lunch session where they had picked up the only three wickets to fall in the day. The morning session meanwhile was dominated by Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who put on a 162-run opening stand - Bangladesh's first 100-plus opening partnership in over five years. Tamim, who remains unbeaten, was forced to retire with cramps, at the Tea interval. The only bright spark for the visitors was when Kasun Rajitha, who had come on as concussion sub for Vishwa Fernando, picked up two wickets post-lunch. That joy however didn't last long as Mushfiqur and Litton wrestled the game away from Sri Lanka. Join us again tomorrow to see if Sri Lanka can do anything to halt the home side's charge, or whether Bangladesh will bat the visitors out of the game.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
