LEON Johnson, captain of the Guyana Jaguars Cricket team, is urging the thieves that broke into his Farm, East Bank Demerara home sometime Sunday evening, to return his Golden Arrow of Achievement (A.A) National Award.
In 2019, Johnson was bestowed with the Golden Arrow of Achievement by former President, David Granger.
The former West Indies U19 World Cup captain explained to Chronicle Sport that he left his home Sunday around 3:00pm for a get-together since it was his 34th Birth Anniversary.
However, Johnson said he was in surprised after noticing the lights in his home being on upon his return, since he was certain that he turned them off before he left.
After taking some time to enter his premises, Johnson said he noticed his house ‘ransacked’. He said his safe, which contained cash, jewellery and other valuable items, was gone.
Johnson related that he noticed that his Gold Medal (A.A) was also missing. According to the national cricket captain, his wife had framed his National Award and had it on the wall of their home.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
