England captain Joe Root explained his increasing ease with being the team's leader motivated his decision to move up to number three in the batting order for the Ashes.
Root will come in at first wicket down as England look to wrest control of the urn from rivals Australia over the next seven weeks
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Really feel sorry for Sam Curran who has contributed as much to England performances in the last 12 months as anyone but yet is the first to make way. The problem is the selectors seem to view him as a bowling all rounder when really they should be looking at him as a batting all rounder. I'd back him to score more runs than Burns and Denly put together.

Woakes to Head, OUT, straightening on the stumps, Head trapped in front - given! But after a chat with his partner, Head reviews. Was it high? That's about the only thing that could save him... He was stuck in the crease, thumped on the knee roll, and he's not a tall man - smashing middle and off! reckons Hawk-Eye and Head's gotta roll

Broad to Smith, pads up to a nip-backer, and Dar's finger goes up! Smith looks aghast
and reviews and it quickly becomes apparent that this was a bad decision, the ball missing the stumps by an inch or so.
Smith knew it, Hawk-Eye proved it, and Australia will keep both their No. 4 and the review !
Good use of the DRS, there. Smiffy not going to make the same mistake as Warner

Woakes to Wade, swinging in, plumb onto the pads... Joel Wilson thinks long and hard
before keeping his hands where they are, but now England choose to review
Clattering into the top of middle and off : and another on-field decision is overturned

Broad has his fourth and Edgbaston lets rip with another throaty roar!

England bowler James Anderson will have a scan on a calf injury after bowling only four overs
on the first morning of the opening Ashes Test against Australia.
England's all-time leading wicket-taker tore the same right calf playing for Lancashire last month
Anderson, 37, left Edgbaston at lunch and will have a scan later on today
