Phil Simmons has opened the door further for a possible return to West Indies cricket after announcing that he will step down as Afghanistan coach after the World Cup. The former West Indies opening batsman told the ESPNcricinfo website: “I have thought about it and I have actually given the ACB my notice that I will not be renewing my contract. I will move on to something different once my contract expires on July 15.”
According to the website Simmons, who was hired with the aim of getting Afghanistan to the World Cup, is understood to have communicated his decision to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
