The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) has authorised an amateur Twenty20 tournament called the Ross Cup to be trialed in November at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Teams competing in the tournament will come from the private sector and alumni of Secondary Schools. The pilot tournament will feature Hillview Renegades, SFBT Ball Tamperers, Full of Vibes and Lab Medica Square Cutters.
The TTCB has multiple reasons for partnering with the tournament. At the forefront is increasing participation of the sport.
“We acknowledge that there is large segment of the population that loves to play cricket but due to work and family commitments are unable to play at the club level. This is a really good avenue for professionals to continue playing cricket in a fun environment,” said TTCB president Azim Bassarath.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
