After a breakout first grade season, Guyra cricketer BJ Cameron is set to make his international debut.
The young gun is heading to Bridgetown, Barbados to play in the Sir Garfield Sobers under-19 cricket tournament as part of the Sydney-based Triforce Cricket Academy.
Triforce is made up from players across New South Wales and is the only Australian team in the tournament.
They will face sides from India, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan and West Indies.
The team will fly out on July 6 for the two week-long tournament and will return on July 23. The sides play seven games followed by a finals series.
The Academy will also be involved in training days with current and past West Indian players including Viv Richards.
In preparation, BJ will attend training in Sydney where he will be coached by former Thunder BBL captain Dan Smith and Ash Squire who has coached Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy.
To assist in making the trip possible BJ will be running street stalls and holding wood raffles in the upcoming weeks.
If you would like to support BJ and unable to attend the street stalls where there is baking, wood raffle tickets and 100 Club, the Guyra Cricket Club has set up a fundraising account to support BJ in this exciting opportunity with all donations and proceeds going towards the flights and accommodation.
Donations can be made to Guyra Cricket Club - BSB: 932 000, Acc: 100262681.
For wood raffle tickets contact Jo Cameron 0407 792 393.
Street stall dates are Saturday, June 23 and Saturday, June 30.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
