Sri Lanka's cricketers left for Kandy on Wednesday evening (May 9) for an eight-day residential training camp that gets underway the following day at the Pallekele International Stadium. The training camp is in preparation for the upcoming tour of West Indies and will begin with a practice match which is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM local time under lights using a pink ball. The last Test of the three-match series, in Barbados, will be a day-night pink ball Test.
Former Australian leg-spinner Peter Sleep and fast bowling coach Tim McCaskill, who have been hired by SLC on short stints, will be part of the camp. McCaskill, who has a reputation of working with injury prone fast bowlers, will spend time with players like Suranga Lakmal and Shehan Madushanka. The former is returning to competitive cricket after a side strain forced him to skip the Inter-Provincial First Class games while Madushanka, who took a hat-trick on debut, has been sidelined for more than three months with a hamstring injury.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
