Mohammad Shahzad has been included in the 15-member Afghanistan limited-overs squads for the One-Day International and Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe in Sharjah next month, the Afghanistan Cricket Board announced on Sunday (January 7).

Shahzad, the wicketkeeper-batsman, had been suspended for 12 months by the International Cricket Council in December after testing positive for a prohibited substance that comes under the category of anabolic agents. His suspension was, however, backdated to January 17, 2017, the date of his sample collection, once he was able to convince the ICC that he had taken the substance unintentionally. As a result, he will be eligible to play for his country from January 18, 2018.
