A cricket fan has been given 50,000 reasons to hate the colour orange during a promotion for a T20 match between New Zealand and the West Indies at Tauranga.
West Indies batsman Andre Fletcher cut a ball over deep backward point for six after copping a short ball outside off stump from Kiwi fast bowler Tim Southee.
The moment provided the crowd with an opportunity for fans to win $50,000, following a promotion by brewery company Tui to reward any fan who could catch a six one-handed.
One fan couldn't believe his luck when the ball landed and stuck in his right hand, and he punched the air in celebration while still holding his drink in his other hand.
The only catch was that he needed to be wearing a special orange shirt to cash in on the promotion, prompting his mate who was properly attired to take the ball off him and claim it himself.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
